(1903-1992) Экьюф, Рой (Клекстон)Певец, автор песен, скрипач. Сын баптистского священника из штата Теннесси. Получил прозвище "Короля музыки кантри" ["King of Country Music", country and western music]. Выступая в конце 30-х годов с группой "Смоки маунтин бойз" [Smoky Mountain Boys], записал такие хиты, как "Огромная рябая птица" ["Great Speckled Bird"] и "Уобаш кэннонбол" [ Wabash Cannonball]. С 1938 стал еженедельно выступать в нэшвиллской радиопрограмме "Грэнд оул опри" [ Grand Ole Opry], позднее сам вел передачи. Во время второй мировой войны был популярен среди солдат. В 1942 вместе с автором-песенником Ф. Роузом [Rose, Fred] создал звукозаписывающую фирму "Экьюф-Роуз паблишинг" [Acuff-Rose Publishing], ставшую крупнейшей студией музыки кантри.
